How did the Second World War start?
Germany wanted to regain land that it had lost as a result of World War 1. When Hitler came to power one of his main aims was to repatriate these lands back under German rule. Hitler himself had served in the German army as a corporal in World War 1.
The more successful Germany became at regaining these lands the bolder Hitler became and progressed to take control of other countries as the allies appeared to be ineffective at stopping Germany from taking the land.
